Name of the song Terrapin.
Syd Barret wrote and sang it. It first appeared on the album Madcap Laughs and was released in 1970.

He's not in the nut house; he lived with his mother for years before her death, and then he inherited the house. He also has 4 siblings and as far as I've heard remains close to all of them.

He did have a psychotic episode but wasn't hospitalized long at all.
